Last night in stream - for the first ever time - I wore a latex catsuit for the first time (and possibly last - for now anyway). It looked cool and it really kept the viewers around; but I've been asked a lot of times about my maintenance routine when it comes to latex; so here we go. Ironically this pretty much was my most read article on my old wordpress blog!
My latex is pretty much always pre-shined when I put it on because of my routine when I take it off. So what is that routine I hear you as
Well there's no denying that latex is a sweat inducing material to wear so my preferred getting out of it method is to do it in the shower. Then any sweat ends up down the drain rather than over your rather fancy Marks & Spencer bedsheets.
After the latex is off and in the bottom of the bath I then put the plug in the bath and let the shower water build up a little whilst I wash myself. Then it's the latex' turn to be cleaned.
First using the shower water I give it a good swish round. There's enough residual soap left to give it a quick clean and get rid of any sweat traces.
Once that's done I'll then let the water out and whilst still in the shower I'll hold each item up under the shower head and give it a rinse - then put it on a drying rack we have over the bath.
Finally, with my shower complete is the most important stage - I have a folding washing up bowl which I stand in the bath, half fill with water and add a good glug of Vivishine Wash in Shine. Stick each item in individually and give them a good swish around in the water before returning them to the drying rack to drip dry.
Next time you wear it, it'll be easy to dress in thanks to the vivishine coating - and any streaks or water marks will just polish out.
Things to be aware of:
Slipping - latex polish will make your shower very slippery! Take care!
