I recently visited Foxton Locks down in Leicestershire and of course the Mavic came out - however I thought I would share a little message about the absolute importance of checking you are legal to fly before you hit that "take off" button.

Foxton Locks is very close to a high security prison, and in the UK every single prison has a no fly zone around it and above it. If you want wide shots of the locks (which you will - they're half a mile long!) you may need to take off and land on an adjacent road.

Be VERY careful and check your apps and maps before you do otherwise you could find yourself spending a few months enjoying food in gaol at his majesty's pleasure.

In this case I was around 500 metres from the start of the no fly zone.
